A Little History:

The school is now named for Frank R. Conwell a former principal of the school. Mr. Conwell was an educator and a member of the NJ State Legislature. As a leader in the community, Mr. Conwell was well respected and influential. Mr. Conwell died in 1971, he was the school principal at the time of heis death.

Frank R. Conwell Middle School #4

The major components of the Frank R. Conwell Middle School are the Small Learning Communities focusing on total integration of staff and students from three sending schools, P.S. #3, P.S. #9 and P.S. #22. Each of the three Small Learning communities consists of a sixth grade, seventh grade and an eighth grade team. Staff and students are equally divided among the three learning communities.
